Detective-Investigator Nick Serrano

Nicolas Alejandro Serrano is a Detective-Investigator in the Fifth Precinct. He carries a 9mm SIG P226 police-issue service sidearm and is partnered with Detective-Investigator Lakisha White. He is Hispanic and speaks some French, although with a Caribbean accent. When he sees the Private Investigator Mark Sauer, he likes to speak only French with him.

Nick HAS to have his coffee in the morning, and is no good without it--so he says; others claim otherwise. In either case, he gets surly without it. He tends to be highly observant of what is going on around him, and is a good cop.

He first appeared in "Fast Fingers and Coffee" in Futures Mystery Anthology Magazine, May 12, 2007. He is also mentioned (while off-stage) as being present at the crime scene in the mystery story "A Killing Season"* in Woman's World magazine, September 1, 2008.
