Linda Harris

Linda Evelyn Harris owns and operates The Purple Box LGBT bookstore on Spring Street near Mulberry in Soho, at what in the 1950s was the southern edge of Greenwhich Village. Her Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender bookstore is one of the only independantly-owned gay bookstores in New York City, and not only sells books but also deals in lesbian art, and serves as a focal point for the LGBT community. It is a popular meeting place on Pride Day, and many customers have suggested that Linda expand the business by adding a coffeehouse, but Linda just doesn't have the cashflow to upscale the store beyond the intimate little shop it is now.

A lipstick lesbian attracted to powerful, dangerous women, she abhors the violence that often cloaks them, meaning that she has been in some very rocky relationships. She had a significant fling with the Fugitive Recover Agent Joi Li, but broke it off because she could not deal with Joi's overly-possessive attitude. She currently has a crush on Detective-Investigator Karen Marx.

Linda loves lesbian mystery fiction and secretly wishes she could write it herself, but simply has no talent for it; as she herself often comments, "Those who cannot create art, sell it.".
