Lakisha Ebony White is a Detective-Investigator in the Fifth Precinct. She carries a 9mm Glock 19 police-issue service sidearm and is partnered with Detective-Investigator Nick Serrano. She is African-America, has milk-chocolate brown eyes, and is married, although this is a secret, as she married her former partner, an ex-cop named Peter Ho. She has two children--twin Chinegro boys. She has been known to curse in Chinese when really upset.
Lakisha graduated the police academy at the top of her class--as a black female cop, she has a lot to prove to the world. Her former partner, Peter Ho, is Chinese, and when she married him she became a black woman named 'Ho.' For this reason, she goes by her maiden name of White. Her current partner Nick Serrano is one of the few people who knows about her married state.
